PHOTOGRAPHY VLOG 01 : SUNSET IN THE VINEYARDS
INAUGURAL PHOTOGRAPHY VLOG
I have wanted to start a photography vlog for the longest time. I have taken inspiration from two very worthy photography vloggers. Thomas Heaton – http://thomasheaton.co.uk/ and Nick Page http://www.nickpagephotography.com/ They both have tremendously insightful vlogs that you can find on Youtube and I hope that my vlog can be every bit as useful to my audience as theirs has been to me.
For my first vlog I stuck close to home, in fact, I scaled the hills directly behind my house. I did this because as simple as the subject is, a vineyard, I want people to be more inspired to start locally. Don’t think you have to leave your home to take great pictures. In fact, if you train your eye to see the beauty in the mundane that you see everyday, you will have a clearer perception when you are somewhere new.
After hiking my butt to the top of the hill, which was way steeper and way higher than it appears, I got to work quickly. Sunset shots need to be done efficiently if you don’t have a plan. Its OK to shoot a sunset without a plan but you want to make sure you are staying focused through out. For my particular situation I knew that I was going to get some hard light hitting the vineyard rows so one thing I wanted to try was to shoot a pattern using those rows. With the light being so vibrant I knew I could get a few back lit shots of the vines and leaves. After I walked around about an hour I found a glorious location that I had not anticipated on looking so good. To see that spot and more please check out the video link below. Thanks for being part of my first vlog.
